New for 2026: Photon Comes to Chicago
We're excited to share a major update for the 2026 season — Photon is moving to Chicago.
After several successful years racing out of Michigan City, we're bringing the program north to be closer to the heart of the Chicago sailing scene. This move allows us to expand the campaign while staying focused on what we do best: competitive distance racing paired with consistent, high-quality weeknight sailing.
Racing in 2026
In 2026, Photon will compete in Chicago's Wednesday night beer can series, providing regular, repeatable racing that sharpens skills and builds cohesion. We'll also continue to campaign in the major Lake Michigan distance races that have long defined the program.
Our home base is still being finalized, with plans to berth either on a can in Monroe Harbor or at a dock in DuSable Harbor, both offering excellent access to the Chicago racecourse.
Growing the Team
As part of this move, we're expanding the crew. Our experienced Michigan City sailors will continue racing with the team, and we're excited to welcome Chicago-based sailors who want to be part of a committed, performance-driven program.
